Islamabad: The reasons behind the transfers of federal police officers and personnel to the NCCIA have come to light; the NCCIA has failed to deliver satisfactory results over the past three years.
According to the report, a massive backlog of complaints has accumulated at the NCCIA over the past three years; between 2024 and 2026, a total of 391,693 complaints were received. The report states that 288,770 complaints were verified, while 66,699 were converted into formal inquiries.
Furthermore, 4,850 cases were registered, and 5,762 suspects were arrested; however, only 109 of the arrested individuals were ultimately convicted. Recoveries amounting to PKR 2.625 billion were made from the arrested suspects. Following the transfer of federal police officers, a decision has also been made to implement new reforms.
Modern digital forensics and cyber intelligence tools will be utilized in investigations regarding cybercrimes, and new cybercrime reporting centers will be established to ensure the protection of women and children.
Coordination with the PTA, financial institutions, and both local and global social media platforms will be intensified.
