Islamabad: Nepra has increased electricity prices by Rs 2.36 per unit as part of fuel adjustment.
According to a Nepra notification, the electricity prices were increased as part of the monthly fuel cost adjustment, and electricity became more expensive as part of the September fuel cost. The notification states that the increase in monthly adjustment will be applied to November bills, and it will also apply to K-Electric.
It should be noted that CPPA had demanded an increase of Rs 2.56 per unit in the September adjustment.
On the other hand, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) announced a controversial change in the special electricity tariff introduced to revive industrial activities, while also approving an additional burden of Rs 2.37 per unit on electricity consumers for the month of November.
The negative impact of this decision, taken despite the opposition of the industrial sector, is likely to affect the consumers of all electricity distribution companies (DSCOs) across the country, including K-Electric.
