Lahore: The court has summoned a woman from Azerbaijan to record her statement in a case of alleged rape.
The court heard the case of alleged rape of a foreign woman from Azerbaijan in Lahore’s Cantt Court. According to the police, the woman has registered a case of alleged rape at the Defense C police station.
The foreign woman was produced before Duty Magistrate Iram Yousuf, where the court directed her to be produced before the relevant area magistrate on September 28 to record her initial statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The court remarked that today is a public holiday across the country and no hearing can be held on any file other than remand. The court directed the investigating officer to present the victim woman before the relevant area magistrate on September 28.
On the other hand, the court also directed the police to search for the accused named in the alleged case and said that notices should be issued to them upon their availability.
