Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the biggest crime of the PTI government is its indifference to the war against terrorism.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said in a message on X that looking at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa merely in the context of PTI’s political activities, protests or long marches is tantamount to turning a blind eye to the real issue.
He asked how long a provincial government will continue to make attempts to invade the federal capital. How long will the party in charge of the provincial government continue to confront the country’s federal institutions and what will be the consequences of this?
He further asked whether the provincial government has fulfilled its constitutional and administrative responsibility in the face of the growing threat of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Khawaja Asif said that since the PTI government was formed in Pakhtunkhwa, it has had a single agenda: to line its pockets, loot the government treasury, and deliver a share of the loot to the leadership.
He said that administrative issues such as the absence of the provincial government in the funerals of the martyrs, deviation from solidarity with their families, creating a narrative favorable to terrorism and facilitating it, neglecting the required increase in the capacity of the police and CTD, and deliberately not paying any attention to effective governance in the merged districts should also be kept under review.
Khawaja Asif said that law and order, counter-terrorism, functional governance, federal stability and fulfillment of relevant constitutional and legal requirements are our national agenda, PTI will have to decide whether their motto is to achieve the interests of an individual or their group or to fulfill the agenda of the dear homeland.
