Coffee is one of the most consumed morning drinks in the world.
It is usually consumed to refresh and energize the body, however, according to experts, coffee consumption can also have potential positive effects on liver health.
According to an expert, gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi explained why he drinks coffee every morning. He says that he has reviewed more than 10,000 liver scans.
According to Dr. Saurabh Sethi, “In a study conducted on nearly five lakh people, coffee drinkers had a 49% lower risk of death from chronic liver disease than non-coffee drinkers.”
Another analysis, which examined data from more than 432,000 people, found that drinking two extra cups of coffee per day was associated with a 44 percent reduction in the risk of cirrhosis of the liver.
Similarly, a study of more than 2.2 million people looked at hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common type of liver cancer. According to the results, the risk of this disease was found to be 35% lower in those who drank two extra cups of coffee per day.
According to the expert, the potential benefits of coffee are not limited to caffeine. Both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee have been linked to better liver outcomes, suggesting that other components in coffee may also play a role.
Dr. Saurabh Sethi said, “In a large British study, drinking three to four cups of coffee per day was associated with better outcomes, but not everyone needs that much coffee. The individual’s tolerance for coffee should be taken into account, while adding too much sugar or cream can affect its overall nutritional benefits.”
