The District Administration of Islamabad has released its annual performance report for 2024, highlighting its efforts to maintain law and order in the city.
Crackdown on Wholesalers and Shops
In 2024, the administration arrested 2,024 wholesalers and fined them Rs 59.78 lakh for violating regulations. Additionally, 331 cases were registered against 610 shops for overcharging citizens.¹
Anti-Beggar Campaign
The administration’s anti-beggar campaign led to the arrest of 949 beggars and the registration of 193 cases.
Action Against Illegal Petrol Agencies
The administration cracked down on illegal petrol agencies, making 110 arrests and sealing 13 petrol pumps. Furthermore, 97 LPG points were sold, and 95 people were arrested for charging more than the notified rate.
Anti-Encroachment Campaign
The administration’s anti-encroachment campaign resulted in 56 arrests and the registration of 17 cases.
