Islamabad: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he rejects the imposition of Governor’s Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will formulate a strong strategy against the decision.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly reacted to the proposal to impose Governor’s Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that if Emergency is to be imposed, then it should be implemented in the federation.
He said that his party rejects this decision and a complete strategy will be formulated against it at the party level. Ishaq Dar called him at 10:30 pm and talked about the imposition of Governor’s Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to him, Ishaq Dar’s position was that the provincial government is not cooperating in the fight against terrorism.
In response, the JUI chief said that the conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are not the same, however, he raised the question that if this is the necessary step, then why is Emergency not being imposed in Balochistan.
Maulana Fasal said that criticizing the government’s strategy against terrorism, he said that the failure to achieve the desired results despite repeated operations shows the failure of the strategy.
He said that he was being asked to support the operation, but first it should be told what the results of the operations carried out so far have been. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) has also made sacrifices in the war against terrorism and its scholars have been martyred.
Accusing the government of not fulfilling its promises, the JUI chief said that he is a witness that the government had given assurances, but it was not implemented.
He also criticized the PPP, saying that it has buried the constitution and human rights, those who claim democracy have imposed Governor’s Rule for the third time, which is against democratic values.
The JUI-F chief said that he had spoken to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Sohail Afridi, Barrister Gauhar and Asad Qaiser on a conference call. According to him, they had told the relevant leadership that if the demands were accepted, the long march could be called off.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the Prime Minister was also spoken to and he was asked to meet the founder of PTI and arrange his treatment. The Prime Minister agreed to this proposal and said that it was okay, after which he informed the PTI leadership about the situation.
Talking about the role of mediation, he said that if differences or bitterness arise between the parties, the mediator plays his role, the promises made by the government have not been fulfilled.
He further clarified that JUI-F will not accept the decision of Governor’s Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a strong political strategy will be prepared at the party level against it.
