Karachi: The trade deficit reached $10.79 billion in the first three months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan’s trade deficit increased by 8 percent every month and 6 percent on an annual basis in September 2026, after which the monthly trade deficit was recorded at $3.56 billion.
The report said that in September, the import bill increased by 12 percent monthly and 11 percent on an annual basis to $6.50 billion. On the other hand, exports in September recorded an increase of 16 percent every month and 18 percent on an annual basis and exports amounted to $2.94 billion.
The data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics also revealed that the trade deficit increased by 15 percent to $10.79 billion in the first three months of the current fiscal year.
Furthermore, during this period, import bills increased by 13 percent to $19.21 billion, while exports increased by 11 percent to $8.42 billion.
