KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami’s “Super Long March” against the petroleum levy has commenced from Karachi under the leadership of the party’s Emir, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has warned that if the petroleum levy is not withdrawn, the protest campaign could escalate into a movement against the government. The Super Long March began with a rally at the Karachi Cantt Railway Station, where Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman addressed the participants.

According to the schedule announced by Jamaat-e-Islami, the marchers will depart from Karachi for the next leg of the journey via the Rehman Baba Express, with Jamaat-e-Islami workers and supporters set to welcome them at the railway stations in Hyderabad, Tando Adam, Nawabshah, and Mehrabpur.
