The Islamabad Food Authority has conducted a major operation in Sector G6, sealing a meat shop involved in selling substandard meat and destroying 50 kg of tainted meat. The shop was found to be operating without necessary records, seals, and traceability, and a veterinary specialist declared the meat hazardous to health after finding flies, mosquitoes, and insects on the meat hidden in the freezer.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of the Director Islamabad Food Authority, and the food safety teams are urging citizens to be cautious when purchasing meat, especially during the Eid season. The Deputy Director of the Food Authority advised consumers to always check the quality of meat before buying and to avoid purchasing pre-prepared meat.
This operation is part of the Islamabad Food Authority’s efforts to ensure food safety and hygiene in the city. The authority has been actively conducting raids and inspections to identify and shut down establishments selling substandard food products.
