Google announced that Pakistani users can use Google Wallet from March 12. Users can download the application from Play Stores. Google Wallet is a digital wallet or purse in which each user can also save different cards and documents.
According to the company, payments made through Google Wallet are encrypted, and each purchase provides the facility to use the wallet and process payment information by sending a unique code. In Google Wallet, users can save bank cards, boarding passes, tickets, and other digital passes like their wallets. Encryption and device security features are used in the app to ensure data security.
The company says that even if someone gains access to this data, it is of no use to them because it does not contain debit or credit details. Customers with Master and Visa cards can add their banking cards to Google Wallet. This facility will prove to be an important milestone in the promotion of digital banking and electronic payments.
In this regard, Farhan Qureshi, Country Director of Google Pakistan, said that the digital payments landscape of Pakistan is changing rapidly, and now people are giving more preference to online digital payments. In such a scenario, Google Wallet provides a safe, smooth, and efficient way of payments, shopping, and doing business.
Cardholders of Bank Alfalah, Bank of Punjab, Faisal Bank Noor, Jazz Cash, HBL, Meezan Bank, and UBL will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet. Soon, cardholders of Allied Bank, Easypaisa Digital Bank, JS Bank, and Zindagi cardholders will also be able to add their cards to Google Wallet.
