Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi announced a 20 percent reduction in train fares on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways said that the reduction in fares would be applicable to all mail, express, and intercity passenger trains.
The reduction in fares will be applicable to bookings for the three days of Eid, however, it will not be applicable to special Eid trains. The statement further said that the purpose of the special discount is to provide relief to the public on the occasion of Eid, while this measure is a source of joy for passengers across the country on the occasion of Eid.
 Schedule of Eid special trains released
On the other hand, Pakistan Railways will run 5 special trains for the public on Eid. The first special train will depart from Karachi Cantt on March 26 via Multan, Sahiwal, and Lahore and the second special train will depart from Quetta to Peshawar on March 26, while the third special train will depart from Lahore via Multan and Karachi on March 27.
The fourth special train will depart from Karachi to Rawalpindi on March 27, while the fifth special train will depart from Karachi Cantt via Multan and Lahore on March 28.
All trains will consist of Economy, AC Business, and AC Standard classes.
