How 7,000 seized mobile phones were cleared from State Warehouse with Fake NOC.

Once again we are writing about the matters of Pakistan’s most significant Institution “Pakistan Customs”. It is an extreme dilemma that such most important institute is under the  corruption attack. But the heartbreaking tragedy is that after several years, No action has been taken by any high authority.

At this time, Syed Amir Shabbir ( Custom Intelligence) wrote a letter to the Director General of the Intelligence and Investigation-Customs, to request for information under section “11 of the  Right of Access to Information Act,2017”.

According to Syed Amir Shabbir, in 2020 the customs Intelligence Rawalpindi, conducted an operation at Islamabad Airport and foiled an attempt to smuggle 7,000 mobile phones from the Import Cargo Section. Which were deposited in the state warehouse.

But anonymously mobile phones were being cleared under fake NOC. Syed Amir Shabbir further said that most of these mobile phones have either been replaced or are missing.

In all this matter Syed Amir Shabbir requested to concerned authorities to provide the exact number of the mobile phones and the names of the officers and staff responsible for this incident within the prescribed time as stipulated under section 14 of the Customs Act.

Mr Syed Amir Shabbir also write such letter to the Chief Collector of Customs (Enforcement).
