Peshawar: The Hayatabad Children’s Hospital project was to be completed in 4 years, but despite the passage of 14 years, the project could not be completed.
According to the report, the cost of the project approved in 2012 has increased from Rs 2.2 billion to Rs 7.96 billion. Delays in the project, changes in design and funding issues have led to the increase in cost. The construction work of the Children’s Hospital has been 95 percent completed, while the work on hospital equipment and other revenue components has been 54 percent completed.
According to the sources, another Rs 1.796 billion is required for the completion of the hospital. Rs 501.4 million is required for the purchase of a generator, while more than Rs 3 billion is required for the operational expenses of the hospital.
It is further stated that a total of Rs 5.3 billion is required for the completion of the hospital, generator and operational expenses.
