Two terrorists were killed during an operation against terrorists in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while four police personnel including DSP CTD were martyred.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, terrorists had set up a blockade on Charpira Road located within the limits of Khurram Police Station last night. After which a search and strike operation was launched at 12 noon today to take action against the presence and movement of terrorists.
According to the police, the operation was led by DSP CTD, while personnel from BDU, Drone Team, Rescue 15 and RRF also participated in the operation.
During the operation, there was an exchange of fire with the terrorists, in the exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed while four police personnel including DSP CTD Imranuddin Khan were martyred.
The funeral prayers of the martyred police personnel were offered with official honors. The funeral prayers were attended by IG Zulfiqar Hameed, Additional IG CTD Jawad Qamar and RPO Kohat Shakir Hussain Dawar along with senior civil and military officials.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed said that brave police personnel sacrificed their lives against terrorism, and the sacrifices of police martyrs will not go in vain.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the incident and said that the sacrifices of the police in the war against terrorism are unforgettable, police officers and jawans sacrificed their lives to maintain law and order, and the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain.
