A young couple’s love story took a tragic turn when Haseeb Awan, a resident of Dara Batangi in Azad Kashmir, was brutally murdered in Islamabad. Haseeb had married Rabia, a girl from Shankyari Mansehra, against their families’ wishes, and the couple had been living in a rented house in Tarlai.¹
Tragically, Haseeb’s body was found in an empty plot on December 26, with three bullet wounds. The police were able to identify him through his fingerprints and informed his family about the incident. Haseeb’s funeral prayers were held on December 29, in Dara Batangi, and he was laid to rest.
The police have launched an investigation into Haseeb’s murder and are searching for his wife, Rabia, who has been missing since the incident. Haseeb’s brother, Muhammad Naseeb Khan Awan, is demanding justice for his brother’s murder and believes that Rabia’s testimony will be crucial in uncovering the truth.
