Islamabad Police achieved remarkable milestones in 2024 under the leadership of IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Counter-Terrorism Efforts saw 141 search operations conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), screening 12,427 suspects and recovering illegal arms and drugs.¹ Intelligence-based operations led to the arrest of 46 suspects, with explosives and hazardous materials seized.
The police also tackled Illegal Immigration, deporting 92 individuals to their home countries. Notably, a record 12,400 Afghans living in Islamabad were documented. The Investigation Unit secured significant convictions, with 27 accused receiving death penalties and 28 others sentenced to life imprisonment.
Traffic Management was another area where Islamabad Police excelled, demonstrating their capabilities during national and international events by enforcing traffic rules and maintaining order.
Moreover, IG Islamabad allocated Rs 8.8 lakh for the education expenses of martyrs’ children and those of serving police officers, enhancing police welfare. These accomplishments demonstrate the outstanding performance of Islamabad Police in 2024, surpassing previous years’ records.
