Lahore: The crackdown on corrupt officers and officials has intensified. Authorities have removed corrupt station house officers (SHOs) and investigation officers from their posts based on intelligence reports.
According to records, authorities suspended 210 SHOs and investigation officers across Punjab, while removing 42 officers and subordinate officials from their posts in Lahore.

Forty-one officers and officials from the Investigation Wing were removed from their posts due to corruption; additionally, 19 in the Bhakkar district, 16 in Mianwali, and 13 in Sheikhupura were dismissed for corruption.
Records indicate that 12 SHOs and investigation officers were removed from their posts in Narowal, 11 in DG Khan, 9 in Bahawalpur, and 8 in Bahawalnagar.Those removed range in rank from constable to inspector. Officials involved in corruption were suspended and severely penalized, and their respective units were shut down.
Action was also taken against other officials implicated in corruption, based on intelligence reports.
The Inspector General of Police for Punjab ordered the Internal Accountability Branch to take prompt action, while the Anti-Corruption Department is also registering complaints against corrupt employees.
