A foreign national, who had been kidnapped for a ransom of $100,000, has been safely rescued. The foreign national was abducted at gunpoint from Sector G-8 on the morning of 12 September. The perpetrators demanded $100,000 in ransom in exchange for his release.
Upon receiving the information, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza took notice of the incident and constituted special police teams under the supervision of SP City Muhammad Khurram Ashraf. The police teams conducted an intelligence-based operation utilizing modern technical resources and human intelligence.
During the successful operation, the kidnapped foreign national was safely recovered from the jurisdiction of the Sihala Police Station. Eight suspects involved in the kidnapping of the foreign national have been arrested.
During the crime, the suspects also snatched cash, expensive mobile phones, and other valuables from other staff members at gunpoint. Three vehicles used in the crime, along with the snatched cash and mobile phones, were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.
Further interrogation of the arrested suspects is underway, and all aspects of the incident are being examined.
