8 Pakistani mechanics from Bahawalpur killed in Iran’s Sistan province | Baloch Nationalist Army claims responsibility
Location: Mahrestan, Sistan, Iran
A tragic incident took place on Saturday morning in the village of Hezabad Payen in Mehrestan district of Iran’s eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, where unidentified gunmen opened fire and killed at least eight Pakistani citizens. All of them were mechanics and worked at a local workshop.
According to the Iranian news agency “Khaama Press” and local sources, the attack took place in an area near the Afghan border, where armed men stormed the workshop, opened fire and fled the scene.
Five of the deceased have been identified, including:
• Dilshad (workshop owner)
• Naeem (Dilshad’s son)
• Jafar
• Danish
• Nasir
All the individuals are said to be from Bahawalpur, a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, and were living in Iran for labor.
Meanwhile, Baloch Nationalist Army spokesman Beberg Baloch has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, alleging that the victims were allegedly agents of an intelligence agency. However, these claims have not yet been independently verified.
Iranian authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation, while Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the incident and demanded a full investigation from Iran and the arrest of the perpetrators.
It seems that the attackers targeted these Pakistanis after identifying them. This was not just firing, it was bullets on the dreams of the mothers of Punjab, gunpowder was poured on the hands that earned a halal livelihood.
“What does bullets and gunpowder know about how a mother and father raise a son? This is not just the killing of workers — it is the killing of peace, hard work, and hope.”
