Britain’s historic castle “Ripley Castle” has been put up for sale for the first time in history. This castle has been owned by the same family since 1300, the Ingleby family and its price has been set at 17 million pounds (about 3 billion 10 crore rupees). This magnificent castle is located near the Yorkshire Dales National Park and 445 acres of land have also been put up for sale.

Over the centuries, the castle has witnessed royal visits, wars, and many important historical events. The current owners, Sir Thomas and Lady Emma Ingleby, have decided to sell it so that they can spend the rest of their lives traveling and enjoying leisure. “We’ve been working seven days a week for years and are now almost 70, so it’s time for us to live independently and explore new places,” Sir Thomas told The New York Post.

The castle came into the family’s possession in the 14th century after Sir Thomas Ingleby married Adeline Thwing, during the reign of King Edward II of England. During this long period, the castle has survived wars, economic upheavals, and the changing tides of time, but has always remained in the Ingleby family.

The castle’s architecture is a beautiful blend of medieval architecture and Georgian extensions. Of particular note within its interior is the “Night Chamber”, which is noted for its ancient wood paneling and unique Tudor-style roof. The castle grounds also include a deer park, beautiful gardens, an 18th-century orangery, and a successful business venture, making it a unique and profitable investment.
