Anis Younis went missing from Islamabad on May 28, 2025. His disappearance sparked deep concern in his family, especially his sister, who tirelessly visited police stations in search of help but found none. Despite the family’s efforts, no meaningful progress was made by the authorities. The last known location of Anis was traced to Hazro, a town in the Attock district.

After his story was shared widely on social media, it quickly gained national attention. The collective public outcry pressured people to come forward with information. On June 2, a body was discovered by the Attock Sadar Hassan Abdal Police Station. The body was unidentified and buried without alerting the family or confirming identity. It was only after the case went viral that someone reached out to the family and informed them about the body. Upon seeing the photographs and clothing, the family confirmed that it was indeed Anis Younis.

The revelations have raised serious concerns about the role and response of the police. The Islamabad Police are now under scrutiny for their complete lack of initiative and follow-up in locating Anis. Moreover, the fact that the Attock Police buried an unidentified body without due diligence has intensified the pain and anger of the family. According to available details, Anis was shot in the head, and his car was taken by the assailants — a cold-blooded murder.

Now, as the family attempts to lodge a First Information Report (FIR), they are being subjected to bureaucratic blame-shifting between police jurisdictions. Instead of offering support in a time of unimaginable grief, officials are passing the case from one station to another.

The family is demanding justice. They are calling on the state to investigate the murder thoroughly, arrest those responsible, and examine CCTV footage across Islamabad and Attock. A young man has been murdered, and a sister has lost her beloved brother. The state must not fail its citizens again.
