Additional IG (CCD) Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha announced that new unit to be formed in the police will be (CCD) Crime Control Department and The TORs of the new department have also been finalized.
According to the administration The CCD unit will investigate 17 serious crime cases. These cases include kidnapping for ransom, extortion, robbery, documents, robbery-murder, major incidents of house robbery, robbery-rape, car robbery, organized robbery gang, drugs, and rape of women, large occupation groups and inter-provincial gangs, among others.
The work of the CCD also includes data analysis and the arrest of suspects of serious crimes in collaboration with the law and order forces of other provinces as it will work as according to the CTD.
