The Parliamentary Committee on National Security issued a statement condemning the recent acts of terrorism and emphasizing the need for a national consensus to counter-terrorism. At the same time, the political and military leadership decided to use all resources and every option to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.

The committee strongly condemned the recent acts of terrorism and expressed solidarity with the affected families.
The statement said that the committee urged the state to have a unified political will to combat terrorism and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism while emphasizing the need for a national consensus to counter-terrorism. The political and military leadership in the Parliamentary Committee on National Security decided to use all resources and every option to eliminate terrorism and deal with the enemy with an iron hand.
According to the statement, during the meeting, the committee deliberated in detail on the current national security situation and the recent wave of terrorism, while expressing regret over the non-participation of some opposition members. The committee said that national security should be ensured under a strong and integrated strategy and a coordinated and systematic strategy should be formulated to eliminate the facilitators of terrorists.

The committee demanded that effective action be taken against any group supporting terrorism, while full implementation of the comprehensive action plan and permanent strategy for counter-terrorism will be ensured. The statement said that the committee condemned the efforts to spread propaganda, fabricate baseless narratives, and mislead the public while recommending strict action against those promoting terrorist narratives on social media.
The committee expressed concern over the use of social media by terrorists and demanded a coordinated strategy to prevent the use of social media by terrorists. The Parliamentary Committee on National Security said that Pakistani institutions should have complete independence in law enforcement and national security matters. The committee stressed that resources should be provided to further improve the performance of law enforcement agencies.
The statement said that it emphasized full support for national and necessary law enforcement agencies to overcome the challenges of terrorism while condemning any kind of sympathy with the extremist terrorist organization in Afghanistan. It was further said that the nation stands by the armed forces in the operation against terrorists, while no institution, individual, or group should show weakness in the war against terrorism.
Finally, at the request of the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Army Chief General Asim Munir led a prayer.
