In the last 24 hours, in the city government, in 15 incidents of theft, robbery, and street crime alone, citizens have been deprived of lives and property worth millions of rupees. The police are facing difficulties in registering cases. Complaints about registering cases have increased due to cases being kept pending for several days.
In addition, the current IG has stopped providing records and details to reporters as soon as he arrived, while more cases are being kept pending in police stations to balance artificial performance. Only 15 incidents of robbery, street crime and theft have been registered in the police records. Several cases of the police have been put on hold in different incidents and as usual, the accused in none of these incidents has been arrested so far.
However, 5 street crime accused of the previous incident, 2 kg hashish, 1 kg heroin, 11 pistol accused have been arrested. On the other hand, not a single accused has been arrested out of more than 7,000 absconding declared persons despite the orders of the higher authorities.
The ongoing campaign against drugs, “Drugs No More”, has also practically died down. During this time, no major drug don has been arrested from the city. The matter has been limited to the traditional seizure of one to two kilograms and the gangs supplying them have been protected. Even the inter-provincial gangs of drugs, ice, heroin, cocaine, garda, hashish and alcohol in the most sensitive area, the Red Zone and the adjacent population of Noorpur Shahan Bari Imam, could not be caught.
