LAHORE: Police has arrested TikTok personality Khurram Gujar on charges of defrauding an overseas Pakistani of millions of rupees in a property deal.
According to the FIR lodged at Defence-C Police Station, Khurram Gujar is accused of taking €200,000 , equivalent to Rs65.5 million, from a man identified as Rana Arslan for the purchase of a commercial plot. Despite repeated assurances, the promised property was never acquired or transferred.
The complainant stated that when he demanded the return of his money, Khurram allegedly refused and also issued threats. Following the complaint, police booked him under charges of criminal breach of trust and intimidation, and subsequently arrested him.
Investigations are under way, while the case has sparked debate over the misuse of social media fame for financial scams.
