In the Jalalpur area of Punjab, 6 brothers got married with 6 sisters from the same family.A video has caught the attention of users on social media showing a mass marriage ceremony. The tradition of communal marriage is not new. It is organized by contributors and welfare organizations for the marriage of daughters and sons of poor families.
However, the mass marriage ceremony in the Jalalpur area of Punjab is different. The special thing is that six brothers married six sisters at the same time. The family members said that we are happy that got resigned from the responsibility of all the children. All children have the same father-in-law and Samadhi.
The wedding ceremony was held in a simple manner, in which the people of the area also joined in large numbers and celebrated the ceremony four moons. Bridegroom Kamran Abbas and his other brothers said that the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught marriage with simplicity and we followed this Sunnah by deciding to end the curse of dowry and get married simply.
Today we are happy with our decision. In order not to put a financial burden on the bride’s family, we have done all the arrangements for the wedding ourselves and have not even taken the salami.
