Spanish hunter Christine Abello hunted the second Kashmir Markhor after winning the open bid for $191,000

Spanish hunter Christine Abello hunted the second Kashmir Markhor of the season in Chitral. Christine Abelo made the hunt at Chitral’s Chitral Goal Conservancy.

The Spanish hunter hunted the Kashmir Markhor from a distance of 160 meters within five minutes of reaching the deep goal. The Spanish hunter had obtained the hunting permit through a company called ‘Faisal Ayaz Arif’ by participating in open bidding.

According to DFO Wildlife Farooq Nabi, Christine Abello won the hunting permit at an open auction in October last year for $191,000. and the age of the hunted markhor was nine and a half years.

It should be noted that on December 8 last year, American hunter Ronald Joy Whinton took the first hunt of Kashmir Markhor of the season in Thoshi Shasha Community Managed Game Reserve in Chitral. Ronald Joy Whinton made the biggest price to get the Kashmir Markhor hunting permit.

The American hunter obtained the permit for this hunting in October last year by paying the largest amount in the history of the country i.e. two lakh 71 thousand dollars (more than seven and a half million rupees).

Farooq Nabi said that the Spanish hunter carried out the hunt under the supervision of wildlife officials in Chitral’s community-managed game reserve Gharat Goal. A Markhor hunting permit of Kohistan’s Kiga conservancy was sold for more than 181,000 dollars.

According to wildlife department officials, 80 percent of the revenue from the trophy hunting program is distributed among the residents of the respective areas, while funds are also given for community development and wildlife conservation activities.
