New revelations have come to light surrounding the tragic and brutal murder of internationally acclaimed Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The mastermind behind the 2022 killing, gangster Goldie Brar, has confessed his role and provided chilling details in an interview with British broadcaster BBC. The exchange was conducted through a six-hour series of voice notes, during which Goldie Brar justified the killing by claiming that Sidhu Moosewala’s behavior had become intolerable.

According to him, Moosewala had made mistakes that were beyond forgiveness, leaving no option but to eliminate him.

Goldie Brar disclosed that the origins of the conflict date back to 2018, when Sidhu Moosewala maintained close ties with notorious gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi. Their communication was regular, with Moosewala allegedly sending routine greetings like good morning and good night messages to Bishnoi. However, tensions escalated when Moosewala publicly supported a Kabaddi tournament organized by the Bombayha gang, a direct rival of Bishnoi’s group. This act, according to Brar, was perceived as betrayal and angered Bishnoi deeply.

The rift widened further after the murder of Vicky Madhu Kheda, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. This incident shattered any remaining trust between Moosewala and the Bishnoi group. The investigation later named Moosewala’s close friend, Shagunpreet Singh, as an accomplice in that killing. While Moosewala consistently denied any involvement or wrongdoing by his friend, the gangsters interpreted his continued association as a declaration of loyalty to their enemies.

In the interview, Brar claimed that multiple attempts were made to resolve the matter through what he referred to as “justice,” but all efforts failed. He justified the use of violence by stating that when decency fails and no one listens, the only language left is that of guns. Brar also expressed his disillusionment with the Indian legal system, claiming it serves only the powerful and leaves ordinary people without justice. He implied that the system failed them, which is why they took matters into their own hands.

Authorities believe that Goldie Brar fled to Canada after the murder and has been in hiding ever since. Despite his open admission of orchestrating the killing and claiming responsibility through the media, no official charges have been brought against him, nor has he been apprehended. Nearly three years have passed since the incident, yet justice remains elusive for the victim and his family.

Sidhu Moosewala, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh, was killed on May 29, 2022, in Jawahar village, Mansa district. Unknown gunmen ambushed his vehicle, firing around 30 bullets and killing him on the spot. Two others in the car were seriously injured. His sudden death shocked millions of fans around the world and plunged the Punjabi music industry into mourning.

Known for his powerful lyrics and commanding presence, Sidhu Moosewala was more than just a singer; he was a cultural icon. He wrote and produced his own music and rose to become one of the wealthiest and most influential artists in Punjabi music. His murder not only left a void in the music scene but also exposed the dark intersection of fame, crime, and unresolved rivalries in the region.
