The Government of Pakistan, under the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab, has approved a Rs 343 million relief package for victims of the recent unprovoked Indian attack.
Funds have been disbursed to the Deputy Commissioners of 14 affected districts in Punjab, with instructions from the Punjab Home Department to ensure transparent and timely distribution of the aid.
According to the relief package:
- Rs 10 million (1 crore) will be provided to the families of martyrs.
- Rs 2 million will be given to those seriously injured.
- Rs 1 million will be allocated for the slightly injured.
The 14 affected districts include:
Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Attock, Murree, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gujrat, Sialkot, Khanewal, Okara, and Rawalpindi.
This initiative comes in the aftermath of the Indian air strikes on civilian areas on the night of May 6–7, 2025, which triggered Operation Banyan Marsus by Pakistan’s armed forces in defense of national sovereignty.
The government has reiterated its commitment to stand by the victims and their families and to ensure that every affected citizen receives the support they deserve.
