RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, a meeting was held at RDA conference room to address issues in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Director General RDA, Mansoor Ahmad Khan.
In line with the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has emphasized zero tolerance for delays in addressing issues across Rawalpindi, the Additional DG highlighted the urgent need to address the water supply challenges affecting residents of Gulraiz Housing Scheme.
He directed the Managing Director WASA to install tubewells in the area as a sustainable solution to the water shortage. He also called for a feasibility assessment of rainwater harvesting systems to promote long-term, innovative water management strategies suitable for urban neighborhoods.
In addition to the water issue, he directed the removal of encroachments in the area to safeguard legal property rights and ensure proper land use. He said resolving infrastructure challenges and restoring lawful ownership are critical to building a livable, regulated urban environment.
He said that the issues will be resolved very soon. He advised the representatives of the housing schemes to support each other, as problems can only be solved through mutual cooperation.
Furthermore, the Addl. DG RDA reaffirmed its commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring that all housing schemes comply with planning regulations and provide basic amenities to the residents.
The MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, Chief Planner RDA Muhammad Tahir Meo, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, other RDA officers, and representatives from the Gulraiz Housing Scheme attended the meeting.
