RAWALPINDI: The District Health Authority Rawalpindi has announced that 48 terminated health workers will be summoned again for inquiry, with reinstatement expected for those cleared of wrongdoing.

The decision was taken in a meeting attended by Chief Executive Officer Dr Ehsan Ghani, District Health Officer Dr Jawad, MPA Tahira Mushtaq, and committee members including Moin Munir, Muhammad Shahbaz Abbasi, Malik Waheed Akhtar, Safeer Khan Jadoon, Ghulam Qadir, Mubashir Shabbir, Faizan Qureshi and Zeeshan Satti. The committee was represented by members Moin Munir and Faizan Qureshi.

According to participants, the union will not support any worker found guilty of repeated or serious negligence, but those facing termination without evidence of misconduct are likely to be reinstated.

The authority also decided that inquiries would be held into the cases of 500 additional workers, while assuring that no employee would be terminated in the future without due process.

Officials further clarified that all inquiries will be conducted in Rawalpindi only, ending the need for workers to travel to Gujar Khan, Taxila or other locations.

Union representatives termed the development a positive breakthrough, crediting it to the unity and persistent struggle of health workers.
