The Punjab Police’s campaign to evacuate illegal foreign residents from the province is progressing successfully. According to the police spokesperson, a total of 13,117 individuals, predominantly Afghans, have been deported so far. During the operation, 13,187 people were transferred to holding centers, while 70 are currently being held at various points. To facilitate this process, the authorities have established 51 holding centers across Punjab, including 5 in Lahore and 46 in other parts of the province.
The Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has emphasized that the evacuation policy is being implemented in accordance with international laws. He assured that security has been heightened during the deportation process, and every effort is being made to uphold human rights, ensuring that no one is unnecessarily inconvenienced. The police are working diligently to identify and deport illegal foreign nationals, with the campaign gaining momentum in recent weeks.
The numbers reflect the rapid progress of the operation, with over 11,000 individuals deported in late April and an additional 2,000-plus since then. The authorities are committed to completing the evacuation process efficiently while adhering to legal and humanitarian standards
