Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the provision of Chromebooks and internet facilities to 500,000 talented students of schools and madrassas across the country.
While officially launching the provision of Chromebooks and internet facilities, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that we are embarking on a great journey of empowering talented and capable children across Pakistan. Talented boys and girls are the capital of Pakistan. Empowering children and providing them with the latest technology and skills is our shared responsibility.
He said that talented sons and daughters are the real capital of Pakistan. Chromebooks are being given to students only on the basis of merit and ability. In the past, under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, the government distributed 600,000 laptops on merit across the country. Along with Chromebooks, students are also being provided with a school bag and internet device.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the purpose of providing Chromebooks is to ensure that you do not lag in the race for development. Intelligence and ability should not be confined to poverty or affluence. The purpose of providing modern technology to students is to make them competitive on a global scale.
He said that in the last 10 years, 600,000 laptops were provided to students on merit, with modern digital facilities, students will be able to benefit from online education and e-library sitting at home, now in 2 years, 500,000 Chromebooks will be distributed on merit.
He further said that he appreciates the initiative of Tokyo Technology Care Foundation for providing Chromebooks, overseas Pakistanis donated for the education and promotion of digital skills of the country’s children, overseas Pakistani youth are our real capital and the architects of the future.
The Prime Minister said that accommodation and food facilities are being provided in Danish schools, students are being provided with quality education, smart boards and e-libraries in Danish schools, all educational facilities are being provided absolutely free in Danish schools.
He said that 27 Danish schools are under construction across the country, it is our priority to provide all the resources to make children talented and capable Pakistanis, many children like Syed Shams Raza are determined to get education and serve the nation despite difficulties.
He further said that students of religious schools were also included in the laptop schemes, Chromebooks will also become a means of obtaining decent employment along with higher education, laptops helped students continue their education and get employment during COVID.
The Prime Minister told the students that education is an ornament that gives a person a prominent position in society.
