ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Gaza and Syria, denouncing the attacks as blatant violations of international law and human rights.
The Foreign Office, in a statement, said the Israeli bombardment of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis had killed at least 21 people, including four journalists and a rescue worker. Islamabad termed the strike on a medical facility and the continued targeting of civilians and journalists as “unconscionable and heinous,” underscoring that such actions violated humanitarian law and freedom of the press.
“We reiterate our call on the international community to hold Israel accountable for such heinous crimes and to take concrete steps towards ending Israel’s impunity,” the statement read.
The FO also condemned, in the “strongest possible terms,” Israeli airstrikes inside Syria, stressing that such incursions ran contrary to the UN Charter and the basic principles of international law.
Reaffirming its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, Pakistan urged the global community to act decisively to prevent Israel from destabilising the broader Middle East.
The statement concluded with Islamabad’s call for urgent international action to stop the cycle of aggression and ensure accountability for what it described as crimes against humanity.
