Islamabad Police Crack Down on Arms Smuggling and Seize Large Consignment of Weapons

Islamabad Police recently conducted a major operation at Tarnol Police Station, seizing a large consignment of weapons and arresting three arms smugglers identified as Ghulam Sastafi, Aamir Ijaz, and Samson Sawan. The recovered arsenal included:

Firearms:

  1. 5 x 30-bore pistols
  2. 7 x Submachine guns (SMGs)
  3. 4 x 12-bore guns
  4. Modern automatic guns

 Ammunition:

  • 27 magazines
  • Over 1,700 rounds of ammunition

The accused revealed that they smuggled weapons and ammunition from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to Islamabad and supplied them to districts in Punjab and Sindh. A case has been registered against the accused at Tarnol Police Station, and further investigation is underway, led by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq.

This operation highlights Islamabad Police’s efforts to crack down on illegal weapons, arms smuggling, and related crimes, prioritizing citizens’ safety and property protection. Islamabad Police has been actively conducting search and combing operations in various areas, including a notable operation in November 2024 that resulted in the arrest of 27 suspects and recovery of two pistols.
