Islamabad Police have successfully cracked down on a group of individuals pretending as government officials. During a routine checkpoint on the Save Mart Highway, the Koral Police signaled suspicious vehicles to stop. While one vehicle managed to flee by installing fake beacon lights, the police were able to apprehend the other vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, police arrested 11 individuals who were found to be in possession of a large cache of illegal weapons. The seized weapons included four 12-bore guns, three 223-bore guns, eight SACD guns, and over 80 cartridges. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shahzaib Abbasi, Junaid Mughal, Akhlaq Mahmood, Muhammad Usman, Shah Saud Khan, Muhammad Rizwan, Naqash Akhtar, Shahzad Ali, Babar Saif, Shahryar Talat, and Sharjeel Abbasi.
The accused were found to be impersonating law enforcement officials by installing fake police lights on their vehicles. This brazen attempt to deceive the public and potentially engage in criminal activities has been foiled thanks to the vigilant efforts of the Islamabad Police.
A case has been registered against the arrested individuals, and further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of their criminal activities. The police have taken custody of the vehicle used by the suspects and are working to determine the source of the illegal weapons.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has commended the officers involved in the operation, particularly SHO Koral Police Station Fazal Khaliq and his team, for their timely and successful action against the criminal elements. This operation demonstrates the commitment of the Islamabad Police to maintaining law and order and protecting the public from potential threats. The outcome of the investigation will likely shed more light on the motives and activities of the arrested individuals.
