According to sources, the minimum amount of Sadaqah-ul-Fitr and Fidyah-e-Sawm has been released for this year’s Ramadan. Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council, Dr. Raghib Naeemi, this year’s Sadaqah-ul-Fitr and Fidyah-e-Sawm should be paid at least Rs 220 per person.
Dr. Raghib Naeemi said that Rs 220 should be paid for wheat, Rs 450 for dates, and Rs 1,650 for dates and Dr. Raghib Naeemi said that Rs 2,500 for raisins and Rs 5,000 for dates.
The Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council further said that benefactors should pay Sadaqah al-Fitr and Fidyah Sawm according to their financial status while paying Sadaqah al-Fitr is obligatory on every slave and free, male and female Muslims.
In addition, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on February 28 to sight the moon of Ramadan.
