How did Pakistan’s 20 rupee note cause a stir in India?

A Pakistani note has been recovered from a housing society in the Indian city of Pune, after which the police have launched an investigation. According to the Indian Express, a 20-rupee Pakistani note has been recovered from the lift of a residential society located near a village in Pune.Residents of the society have handed over a Rs 20 note to the Baudhan Police Station, after which the police are investigating.

According to report, this Pakistani Rs 20 note was recovered from the Manas Lake Housing Society, 18 km from the National Defence Academy (NDA). Anil Vibhute, in charge of Baudhan Police Station, says, “After receiving the note, the residents of the society contacted the police station. They filed a request to resolve the matter and handed over the note to the police.”

The police said that an investigation has been initiated and further action will be taken after receiving information. The police station in charge further said, “There are 84 flats in this housing society. A CCTV camera is installed with the lift, but it has not been working since November 24 last year.”

The police said that more CCTV cameras of the housing society will be examined and the statements of the residents will be recorded. The police have not yet registered an FIR in the incident.
