Islamabad: The federal government has decided to conduct a comprehensive review of the current system and procedures for granting civil awards. The Prime Minister has formed a 16-member committee to review the procedure for civil awards, for which the Cabinet Division has also issued an official notification.

According to the notification, renowned jurist and former bureaucrat Nasir Mahmood Khosa has been appointed convener of the committee, while the Chairman, WAPDA, will be the co-convener, and the Secretary, Cabinet Division, will act as the secretary.

The committee also includes the Secretary Parliamentary Affairs, Secretary Commerce and Chairman FBR, in addition to Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, the chief secretaries of all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have also been appointed as members of the committee.

On the other hand, apart from the representative of the Ministry of Defense, former diplomat Cyrus Sajjad Qazi and renowned artist Jamal Shah are also among the members of the committee.
