In a major breakthrough, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has arrested three accused involved in human trafficking and visa fraud. The accused, identified as Sajid Mahmood, Muhammad Afzal, and Waskin Ahmed, were taken into custody from Kharian and Gujranwala.

According to FIA officials, the accused had been fleecing innocent citizens by promising them employment opportunities abroad. Sajid Mahmood allegedly received Rs. 860,000 from a citizen to send him to Italy for employment, while Muhammad Afzal and Waskin Ahmed received Rs. 55 lakh to send citizens to Malaysia. However, the accused failed to deliver on their promises, leaving the victims stranded.

After receiving complaints from the victims, the FIA launched an investigation into the matter. After receiving the money, the accused had gone into hiding but were eventually tracked down and arrested by the FIA team.

Director FIA Gujranwala Zone, Abdul Qadir Qamar, hailed the arrest as a major success in the agency’s crackdown on human trafficking. “We are committed to eradicating this menace, and our teams are working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he said.

Qamar added that the FIA is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking, and those found guilty will be punished strictly according to the law. He also appealed to the public to come forward and report any instances of human trafficking or visa fraud.

The FIA has intensified its operations against human trafficking networks, with teams deployed at all airports to monitor and apprehend suspects. The agency is also in constant contact with victims of human trafficking, providing them with support and assistance.

The arrest of the three accused is a significant step forward in the FIA’s efforts to combat human trafficking. As the agency continues to crack down on this illicit trade, it is hoped that more victims will come forward and receive justice.
