Islamabad – Khanna police on Sunday seized a truck loaded with counterfeit cement bags and dismantled an illegal cement production unit allegedly replicating Bestway Cement products.

According to police, Station House Officer (SHO) Aamir Hayat led the raid after receiving intelligence about the operation. The factory was reportedly manufacturing and selling fake cement in the market under Bestway Cement’s name.

During the operation, seven suspects were arrested on the identification of detained accused. Those apprehended include the owners of the fake factory, individuals involved in printing counterfeit Bestway Cement bags, as well as buyers and distributors engaged in the illicit trade.

Police sources said that despite “strong recommendations” and attempts to bribe law enforcement, the suspects failed to secure relief. “The operation reflects the department’s resolve to curb counterfeit products that endanger consumers and damage legitimate industries,” an official noted.

The crackdown has been welcomed by local authorities and industry representatives, who stressed that counterfeit cement not only defrauds buyers but also poses serious safety risks to construction projects.
