The Government of Pakistan, through the Federal Board of Revenue’s Revenue Division, has recently issued an urgent directive to all Chief Collectors, Directors General, and Collectors/Directors of Customs field formations. The communication, dated May 29, 2025, seeks crucial information concerning the disciplinary proceedings that have been conducted under the Civil Servant (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020. This applies to officials in Basic Scales (BS) 01 to 15 within the Customs Department.

A copy of the referenced office order, dated May 26, 2025, has been enclosed with the communication, along with relevant annexures, to provide detailed context and guidance. The directive underscores the importance of furnishing the required data in a prescribed format, ensuring that the details of disciplinary cases are accurately documented. The proforma seeks comprehensive information on the number of cases initiated, finalized, dropped, or resulting in either major or minor penalties, as well as those cases where officials have been exonerated.

Officials have been reminded of the urgency, with a firm deadline set for June 2, 2025. The Board has emphasized the necessity of this information for onward transmission to higher authorities. Additionally, field formations are instructed to share copies of all disciplinary cases initiated and concluded within their jurisdictions, ensuring transparency and accountability across the department. To streamline the process, they have been requested to send soft copies via the provided email address.
This directive highlights the government’s commitment to upholding discipline within the Customs Department, ensuring that all actions are documented and reported in a timely manner. It serves as a reminder of the critical role of oversight and accountability in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of public service.
