Cricket Mania: Cricketer Muhammad Rizwan formally allowed to play domestic cricket.

Former Pakistan Test captain and wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan will lead Sui Northern Gas against Khan Research Laboratories from October 19, the four-day President’s Trophy match to be played at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Sui Northern Gas Director of Cricket and Head Coach Mohammad Hafeez confirmed that he had received a formal email in this regard from the board’s Director Domestic Usama Sherwin Niazi.

It is worth noting that 34-year-old Mohammad Rizwan was among the seven players who were recalled to Pakistan on emergency grounds by the PCB after losing the second Test against England by 194 runs at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London in August 2026.

The wicketkeeper was later summoned to the NCCIA, where an inquiry is underway against him.

There are reports that efforts are being made to improve matters between Mohammad Rizwan, who has played 47 Tests, 103 ODIs and 106 T20Is for Pakistan, and the board, while Mohammad Rizwan himself is keen to focus on his cricket rather than any further confrontation and has also sought permission from the board to play domestic cricket in this regard.
