According to sources, the Army Chief’s mother passed away due to a divine decree last night, and her funeral prayers will be offered in Rawalpindi. The funeral prayers will be attended by the President, Prime Minister, federal ministers, members of parliament, officers of the armed forces, and members of General Asim Munir’s family.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani, and other important figures have expressed their condolences to the Chief of Army Staff.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their grief over the death of Army Chief General Asim Munir’s mother and said that they share the grief of the bereaved family. The Prime Minister also prayed for the highest ranks for the deceased.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Governor Kamran Tessori, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also expressed their condolences to the Chief of Army Staff and prayed for the forgiveness and high ranks of the deceased.
