Another huge amount of drugs was seized by Pakistan Customs at Islamabad Airport.

Islamabad: Customs seized a total of 47 kilograms of suspected drugs in two major operations against drug smuggling attempts at Islamabad International Airport during a week.

According to customs officials, strict monitoring and checking was carried out on passengers of Thai Airways flight TG-349 arriving from abroad on October 2, 2026.

During the checking, Thai citizen Naeehaphong Pueehykosai was stopped and searched and 23 kilograms of suspected cannabis/weed were recovered from his possession, the value of which is estimated to be around Rs 31 million.

According to customs officials, a special vigilance team was formed under the supervision of Assistant Collector Customs (AB) Airport on a credible information. The recovered material was seized and the passenger was taken into custody for further legal action, while a case has also been registered.

According to customs officials, in another operation, a passenger coming from abroad was stopped and searched on a tip-off. 24 kilograms of hashish were recovered from his possession. The value of the drug in the international market is estimated at around Rs 310 million.

Customs officials say that on September 28, hashish worth Rs 550 million was also seized from a passenger coming from abroad. Legal action is underway against the passengers arrested in both operations.
