Legendary Pakistani film actress Anjuman has once again stirred nostalgia in a candid interview, recalling her iconic on-screen chemistry with the late action hero Sultan Rahi.
Speaking about her early days in Punjabi cinema, Anjuman revealed that Sultan Rahi was “an ordinary-looking man”, but audiences, particularly women, were fascinated to see her perform alongside him.
“When I danced to the song ‘Mahi Aave Ga, Main Phullan Naal Dharti Sajawan Gi’ with Sultan Rahi, people—especially women—began asking what was so special about him that I danced for him,” she said.
According to Anjuman, once Sultan Rahi rose to stardom, every major actress in the industry wished to work with him. She also shared some behind-the-scenes moments from film sets, saying she would deliberately invite co-star Ghulam Mohiuddin to chit-chat just to tease Sultan Rahi.
“He would often get annoyed. I was beautiful, and every man wanted my attention. But the truth is, I never really got the chance to give attention or love to anyone,” Anjuman admitted.
The actress, who ruled Lollywood in the 1980s and 1990s with her powerful presence, continues to be remembered for her charisma, grace, and unmatched contributions to Pakistani cinema.
