Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a significant reduction in electricity prices for both domestic and industrial consumers. Domestic consumers will see a decrease of Rs 7.41 per unit, bringing the price down to Rs 38.37 per unit. Meanwhile, industrial consumers will benefit from a reduction of Rs 7.59 per unit, resulting in a new price of Rs 40.60 per unit.

However, it’s worth noting that the Prime Minister mentioned that all consumers will be provided electricity at an average of Rs 34.37 per unit. This suggests that there may be further adjustments or subsidies in place to support consumers.

The Prime Minister’s announcement is part of a broader effort to support Pakistan’s economy and industry. He emphasized the importance of hard work and self-reliance, stating that the government will work tirelessly to improve the country’s economic stability.

In fact, the Prime Minister highlighted several achievements, including reducing inflation from 38% in 2024 to just 1.5% today, and cutting petroleum prices by Rs 38 over the past year. He also mentioned that the interest rate has been halved, which has helped improve business conditions for the industrial sector.

Overall, the Prime Minister’s announcement is a positive step towards supporting Pakistan’s economy and industries. However, it remains to be seen how these changes will be implemented and what further measures will be taken to support consumers and businesses
