A teacher who allegedly abused more than 100 school children has been arrested in Nawan Kot town of Khanpur tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan.
According to a Sources of The INQUIRER, the matter came to light when a resident of a village near Nawan Kot town lodged a complaint with Khanpur Sadar police station on condition of anonymity.
In a statement given to the police, the citizen said that he is a resident of Saidpur village in Liaquatpur tehsil and does business in Nawan Kot, and his 14-year-old cousin is a student of class 8 in Nawan Kot school.He said that my cousin told in the presence of 2 witnesses that a few days ago his private school teacher (resident of Chak 195-NP) raped him and also made a video of this heinous act.
He further said, “He went to the teacher along with his victim cousin and two witnesses who initially made excuses but later confessed to raping the student and making the video.”The said person said that when they checked the teacher’s mobile phone, they also found indecent videos of some other boys. This teacher had raped my cousin 5 to 6 months ago and made objectionable videos of other boys, so the police should take action against this crime.
Later, when this matter came to light in the social circles of the area, the police registered a First Information Report under sections ‘376 III’ and ‘292’ of the Pakistan Penal Code in Sadar Khanpur police station and arrested the accused.
The victim’s cousin told a private TV channel, “The private school is run by a person named Irfan Chaudhry, a resident of Nawan Kot, where 23 female teachers and 2 male teachers including the principal and the accused teach.”
He said that due to the good number of students, the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) took the school under its administrative control while the police took immediate action on their complaint.
Another relative of the victim told a private TV channel that it is possible that the accused was in touch with dark web and pornography platforms. He said that the accused’s mobile phone had more than 1,000 objectionable videos, out of which about 250 videos were of boys from the Nawan Kot school.
He added that some elders of his tribe are going to Sadar police station, where they will discuss the matter with the elders of the accused in the presence of the police, as they want to settle the matter to avoid defamation.
On the other hand, police spokesperson Zeeshan Randhawa told a private TV correspondent that District Police Officer Irfan Ali Samo has taken notice of the school teacher’s sex scandal. He said that after the arrest of the accused, his mobile phone has been sent for forensics and all technical aspects are being used to investigate the merits of the case.
