Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, on 28th July, has alleged that sugar is being hoarded in the country, and the Sharif and Zardari families are involved in the sugar scandal, which has earned them billions of rupees.

Talking to the media after appearing in the Peshawar High Court, Omar Ayub said that the government first imported 500,000 tons of sugar, then exported 500,000 tons of sugar, inflation in the country has increased to an alarming level.

He said that the electricity bill of 1,500 rupees has reached 15,000 rupees, petrol, gas and other commodities are expensive. Omar Ayub said that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are being mistreated in jail.

He said that he regrets and condemns the incident of firing on civilians in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, an inquiry should be conducted on who fired on the unarmed people, the reaction to firing on the people can be very bad, the operation has been opposed in the All Parties Conference.

The opposition leader said that there will be a peaceful protest on August 5, preparations for the protest are complete, Mohsin Naqvi should give an account of wheat worth Rs 450 billion, Rana Sanaullah should either apologize to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) or ask for evidence from the Director General (DG) ANF.

He said that Rana Sanaullah should first be questioned about the drug case against him, then talk, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is involved in the case of importing wheat worth Rs 450 billion during the caretaker government, a NAB case is being prepared against him.

Omar Ayub said that some opposition parties will also join us in the August 5 protest, our protest will be peaceful, the plan of action for the protest will be announced in two to three days.
